When setting up new staff members, you will need to set up their charge-out rates for recording the time spent on jobs for each client. This can be done by going to Drive Desktop - Staff and opening the relevant staff member. You will see the below screen.
Select Add and fill in the required detail. Staff can have up to 9 charge-out rates.
- Rates From: The client will have to define a date from when the new staff member will be posting time from
- Charge Out Rate: Determines the hourly charge to the client for the value of work on the job
- Cost Rate: This is cost the new staff member is to the practice. The average cost rate calculated by most practices is 2.5* less the Charge-out Rate. This is only used for reporting and has no bearing on the value of the charge to the client. There must be a minimum figure of 1 entered.
- Mileage: If the client wants to track staff expenses for mileage the rate can be entered here.
Once you are happy with the detail, click OK and Save & Close on the Edit a Staff screen.
