Drive has a useful feature called job plans which allows you to forecast or budget for a specific job – this will let you plan how long jobs will take and how can be earned. It could also help to plan a schedule for the same.
Using this Feature
Job Plans should already be available in Drive Desktop in the navigation toolbar along the left in Drive.
If you do not have this option, you can add it by right-clicking in Drive Desktop and selecting Add Shortcut. You can scroll to find the option for Drive Desktop > Job Plans and change the caption here if needed before clicking OK as shown below.
Once set up, you can select Job Plans along the left to open. You will be able to view all your current Job Plans here and depending on your access, you may be able to view other Staff members as well by clicking the blue Staff hyperlink and making your selection.
To add a new job plan, you can right-click and click ‘New’, select the icon in the top left, or select File – New from the top left of the Drive screen. The below screen will appear to allow you input the relevant details such as Client, Job, Job Type, Feeds, Notes, etc. You should also input your start and finish dates which can be updated if needed by clicking the relevant job plan. You can finish by selecting Save & Close. You can also create a new Job Plan by selecting New or Create Next Plan. The Actual button will allow you to update actual units for this particular Job Plan which ties in with your Time Sheets. You can also leave the Job Plans as Drafts if you are not ready to save by selecting Draft from the Draft or Actual dropdown.
When the staff member updates their timesheets for related jobs, this will update the Job Plan units when you click Actual. You can also update all the units for all current Job Plans by selecting the Actual button in the main Job Plans screen as shown below.
Reports
You can also run a report on these by going to Reports > Client Reports > Client Job Plans. You can choose the information given by double-clicking, choosing your options, and clicking Preview to preview your selection or Print to print or save to a PDF on your machine as shown below.
