To set up a Client Deadline you must select the Workflow/Deadline option in the Tools menu (Tools >
Workflow/Deadline > Client Deadline Dates Setup) as shown below.
The Client Deadline Date Setup window will be displayed (see figure 9). This window will be blank until you select the client you wish to set up a deadline.
The Client Deadline Date Setup screen displays information about the selected client and a list of defined deadline dates that are applicable to that specific client.
Note: The deadline list here is dependent on the Country selected and the client’s Entity type.
To apply a specific deadline to the selected client simply tick the Applicable box adjacent to the Deadline description. Once you have ticked the Applicable box you will then need to input the information for the Starting Date, Duration (must be numerical), and the Staff member you want to assign the deadline to.
The Starting Date should occur before the date of the next deadline you are selecting. Click the OK button to generate the deadlines.
Generating Deadline Date
Drive will automatically generate three years of deadlines for you; the current year, the next year, and the year after the next. It won’t generate the current year for you if the starting date occurs after the deadline date.
Example: You define a deadline with a date of 30/04. Your starting date is 11/07/2012.
This means when you generate your deadlines, the next deadline will be 30/04/2013. To have a deadline for 2012, you need to set the starting date before the deadline date.
DRIVE allows you to generate more years through the Generate Deadlines function. This can be found under Workflow/Deadline on the Tools menu.
The Generate Deadline Dates window will be displayed. Enter the date you wish to generate deadlines up to and select the OK button to generate.
Note: This will do all Client Deadlines. We do not recommend creating more than two years as you will find that your Deadline Management Diary will become cluttered.
